👍 📱⚠️ Warning: Police Ahead! ( 12 Drivers Didn't Get the Message...) 🚓😬

Good afternoon,

The Safer Neighbourhood Team recently carried out speed enforcement on the A438 at Swainshill following concerns raised by the Parish Council and local residents.

Road safety has been identified as a local priority, and we remain committed to working with our communities to address concerns and improve safety on our roads.

It was pleasing to see that the vast majority of motorists were complying with the 40mph speed limit.

Unfortunately, despite the fluorescent jackets, marked police car, and what can only be described as a free public announcement on Waze, 12 drivers were still detected speeding, with speeds recorded between 46mph and 52mph.

Whilst those speeds may not seem dramatically over the limit, higher speeds reduce the time available to react to hazards and significantly increase the risk of serious injury should a collision occur.

We would like to thank the many motorists who were driving responsibly and respecting the speed limit. 👏

Road safety enforcement will continue across the area wherever concerns are raised, and we'll keep working to make our roads safer for everyone.
